Summer Events


July 4th Celebration - July 4. Fireworks, live music, the 'duck drop', food, and events for the family. Held at the West Ellensburg Park.


Jazz In The Valley - end of July. Multiple locations with performances in downtown Ellensburg on Friday and Saturday nights. On Sunday there is an outdoor performance featuring the John Moawad Big Band, and more. This is a favorite community festival, staffed with local volunteers, and has many different types of jazz or jazz-influenced music.


The Red Horse Round Up Car Show - July. 1518 W University Way, Ellensburg, WA.


Table Mountain Star Party - July. Table Mountain is an area north of Ellensburg that is well worth the drive for this astronomy gathering. Table Mountain is in the east Cascades, 6,260 ft. in elevation, is ideal for viewing the stars and planets, or for viewing the surrounding area, or hiking. There are many events held at this annual outdoor 'star' festival, inluding speakers, workshops, seminars, a swap meet, door prizes, and a 'young astronomer' program.


Kruisin' Kittitas - August. Parade in Kittitas, WA, at 10 AM. Includes a 'burnout contest' and car show.


Kittitas County Fair and Rodeo - Labor Day weekend. With about 500 contestants in the rodeo, this is one of the nation's top 25 rodeos each year, and has been here since 1923. The fair began in 1885! There is a fair, including a carnival, music, and special events, and rodeo events all weekend. Ellensburg is a busy town on labor day weekend...


Threshing Bee and Antique Equipment Show - September. 7 AM until evening, at Olmstead Place State Park, just East of Ellensburg.
